Hi, I’m Emil

I’m 29, a Norwegian software developer based in Oslo. I mostly work on backend systems, usually in Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, and Python.

My side projects are things I want to have or things that seem fun to build. That includes agents and small tools, but also experiments with game development and turning pixel art into voxels. I’ve been exploring Odin for some of that work too.

I’m interested in software and hardware I can run and control myself, from Linux and local AI models to home servers.

I also think phones should replace laptops. I’d rather carry a Linux phone in my pocket and plug it into a monitor and keyboard when I need a workstation, which is mostly how I use a laptop anyway.

Outside programming, I play tennis and used to throw javelin. I also like science fiction, history, and reading about things that catch my interest.

This site is a place to share my projects and whatever I feel like writing about. Some projects have public repositories, others have a page here explaining what they do. There’s also a bit of pixel art and a few seasonal details. I think that software should be fun, interesting, personal, and useful.
